Captain America: Civil War Trailer

The trailer to Captain America: Civil War came out. Watch…..

……. TT___TT when Tony said, “So was I.” So saaaadddd 🙁

Anyways, I love how these movies always come out around my birthday! I get to make my friends come watch with me hahaha.

The trailer looks pretty good so far. Not as epic or action-packed as I thought it would be, but I’m still excited to go see how this pans out. More so than Episode VII. Nothing against Star Wars, of course. I like Star Wars. I’m just not a major fan haha. Self-proclaimed trekkie here XD

….Where’s Spiderman? Is he in this one? Or are they saving him for later?

Also, I don’t really like how they try to make Captain seem like a bad guy, saying he’s a vigilante and all. Corrupt organizations forced him to do things himself. They call Batman a vigilante. I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad thing. It really comes down to the person.

Well, I can’t wait until May 2016 comes around. And I can’t wait until I see more trailers for next year’s summer movies XD

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

I’m………just very confused and very curious.

I want to know in which direction this movie is going towards. I read up on Star Wars a while back and read about Luke’s kids  and Leia’s kids, but this movie seems to be going in a different direction or a different story altogether. Maybe not. I don’t know.

Did the events of episodes 4, 5, and 6 happen so long ago that people have forgotten about Jedis, the Force, and the Dark Side? Well, I guess you can blame Anakin for killing off all the little Jedi younglings. The way the people in the trailer speak about it makes it seem like it was all a dream or a fairytale.

I guess the only way to know is to go see the movie in December haha. Time to take out the good ol’ lightsaber.

Batman & Robin (1997) Reaction

One of the movies people make fun of for numerous reasons. I do understand why; however, when I watch this movie, I enjoyed it. I think it was over-the-top and overdramatic on purpose. Maybe it was trying to catch the quirkiness of the Adam West Batman and the comic book feel from the comics. I don’t know, but I did rewatch this movie this past weekend since I saw it on Netflix. Go check it out, if you’d like hahaha.

First thing I poked at about this movie when I was rewatching it with my friend was the costumes, the nipple suits and the weird shots of the costumes’ anatomies hahaha. I’m not sure why they did those shots, but whatever floated their boat, I suppose.

Now, as mentioned before, I know the acting was overdramatic and everything looked warped and fake and fantastical. BUT I’m sure it was purposeful style choice. So I’m not going to mention it much haha.

One thing that annoyed me about Robin. Now, I like Chris O’Donnell. I watched him in The Bachelor, The Three Musketeers, and a bit in NCIS: LA. I just didn’t like how Robin was. I’m used to the Robin I watched on Teen Titans. He was a smart leader/strategist/detective. The Robin in this movie reminded me more of a selfish little whiny pre-teen? Which makes me wonder how old is Robin supposed to be in this movie? I would guess college age? He should be acting like a rebellious teenager, imho.

The whole warping of Barbara’s backstory. Barbara Wilson??? Whhhhyyyyy????? So in this cinematic universe, Barbara is Alfred’s niece. This is nice, I guess, but I just think it does a huge disservice to who Barbara was. I know, I know. I’m probably being biased because one of my favorite cartons growing up was Batman: The Animated Series, in which Barbara was the daughter of Commissioner Gordon. She was just this redheaded badass girl that I marveled at when I watched hahaha. Batman & Robin changed her to this blond, school girl techie who seemed to try too hard to seem like a badass with her black eyeliner and want for motorbike racing……I did like Alicia Silverstone in Clueless and Blast from the Past.

I’m not quite sure what was going on with Alfred. Why did they decide to make him ailing? Why was he searching for his brother Wilfred? Were the moviemakers planning for something in the future with this storyline?

I found the difference between the two movie Banes HILARIOUS.

3474016-6969933009-BaneT Bane_in_'Batman_&_Robin'_(1997)

Not only is it hilarious because of how different they look, but it’s more about how they acted!!! Batman & Robin’s Bane only spoke a few words at a time, like a toddler. Just repeated words like a dimwitted parrot. I have to admit though, I didn’t exactly like the “new” Bane either though. I’m a very nostalgic person, I guess. I liked the Bane from the animated series haha.

On Poison Ivy, I love the character. I wish she was more powerful in the movie.

On Mr. Freeze……..I wish he had been more sinister. I now that these movies were more on the corny, campy, funny side, but I liked Mr. Freeze to be more serious. I thought he could’ve been more evil, except for whenever it concerns his wife. I remember Mr. Freeze as being scary and evil until you see him slowing down and showing emotions when he looks down at the dancing little figure of his beloved wife…..*tear*

There are so many more things that I can talk about with this movie. Things that I liked, things that annoyed me–but overall, this movie was enjoyable. I laughed and I love to laugh. I’m going to see if I can find the Batman movie that came before this. The one with Two Face and the Riddler. I remember Tommy Lee Jones and Jim Carey being funny in it.

Maybe after that I’ll look for the Batman movie with Catwoman and Penguin, as well as the one with the Joker in the 80s…….although, both of those Batman movies scared me and freaked me out as child hahaha.

I know people rag on horrible movies, but I think that as long as it’s enjoyable, it ain’t too bad 🙂

Deadpool Trailer

I don’t know much about Deadpool, but I was very excited to see the trailer go up. I actually wasn’t aware that I had already seen a part of this trailer already a while back. I had thought it was a game trailer. Anyway, I love how crazy Deadpool is. I may not know much about his backstory (except that he has mutant powers derived from other mutants from being in the Weapon X project), but I do like his humor and badassery.

I’m very interested in learning more about Wade’s backstory. I have no idea who that woman he’s with is. I didn’t know he was ill and that was why he went into the project. I do wonder how crazy he will be. I like how he breaks the fourth wall (i.e. talking about the Green Lantern outfit which Ryan Reynolds wore in that movie). Will we hear the voices in his head? Who is that guy who is listing what Wade looks like? What is Colossus doing there? I actually have Lady Deadpool comics, but I’m pretty sure it’s different than the original Deadpool and this movie’s storyline in particular lol.

Either way, I hope this goes well. Esp for Ryan Reynolds. Hopefully, it’s better than Green Lantern. Although! At least that movie wasn’t as bad as some other superhero movies…lol.

Batman V Superman SDCC2015 Trailer

This is the trailer for Batman V Superman that was released at SDCC 2015. I heard it was leaked (along with other trailers) so that the companies decided to officially release it. I actually saw this trailer when I went to see Ant-Man last week.

The trailer looks pretty epic. Bruce Wayne looks uber broody and angsty. I’m guessing that people are having to deal with the after effect of Superman’s battle with Zod or maybe the collateral damage of all his fights.

I have to admit, though, that if I had super powers, people probably should be worried about what I would do, hahahaha. I mean, I’d be like Galadriel. I’d mean to do good, but some of the worst things happen from people who mean well. I already know that a lot of people would be dead because I believe that there are a lot of evil human monsters out there.

Anyways, Superman’s is a good dude though. I can’t imagine him going rogue very often. I know that in the animated series, Batman had kryptonite on the ready in case Superman does go rogue. Haha Batman….always trying to think ahead.

Oh, and Wonder Woman. It was like, “Oooo, wow, Batman! And Superman! Locked head to head in a heated battle full of explosions BOOM BOOM BAM–oh, hey, there’s Wonder Woman–BOOM POW BAM and more Batman angst and Superman guilt….” What’s the point of her being there? Why not have her appear in her own movie or in a Justice League movie? It’s kind of strange just to have her a some weird side character here….

One of the weirdest things that really bothered me in this trailer was that Lex Luther had hair! Haha. I don’t know why it bothers me so much. ….Maybe it’s a wig and he’ll swipe it off for dramatic effect later lol.

Can’t wait for this to come out in 2016.

Suicide Squad – First Look Trailer

I…I really don’t know what to think about this movie.

Harley Quinn is in it and she’s one of my favorite DC characters, but she’s different in this movie. Also, the Joker really creeps me out. Will Smith being in it is kind of random to me. And overall, I just don’t know about this film. I mean, I actually liked the campiness of the Batman movies from the 90s. That gives you an idea of where my tastes are. Goofy and corny. I was never into the grungy, gritty feel that this Suicide Squad movie gives off. When they announced this movie earlier last year, I was very interested in watching it though! But this trailer is making me rethink it….

I do hope that Jared Leto plays the Joker well though. I know people still go on about Heath Ledger’s take on the character–which was good, of course, but that’s a lot of pressure the next person who’ll play that character.

Haha I really have nothing else to say about this movie because I don’t think I’m even going to see it, lol. But I do hope it’s good and people enjoy it.

The Sherlock Special is Coming…

I thought this was hilarious! I watched it for a moment before I realized that the time era was totally different hahaha. I guess thinking of Sherlock Holmes in this sort of setting is normal in my head. I hope this special is good, but I do wonder when the next series will come out.

Haha, that little quip about his moustache.

Ooo! I actually did get to visit Sherlock Holme’s address when I visited London this past spring XD. I also got to see other sites in London too, but I’ll post that in another blog, hopefully soon.

PIXELS Trailer

Adam Sandler’s coming out in another movie. This one has a pretty basic premise. Video game characters/aliens are invading the world and old 80s gaming champions have to save it–Actually, it kind of reminds me of an episode of Futurama! I think it was an episode where the crew is playing with the What-If machine and Fry wonders what it’d be like if life was a video game or something. Anyways, I tried to find clips on YouTube, but couldn’t find a good one. HOWEVER, I did find that a lot of other people thought the same as me.

So is this movie ripping off Futurama? Or did they have permission to borrow the ideas? I don’t know.

Either way, when I first saw the first PIXELS trailer, I didn’t think much of it. I mean, I do like the idea and the movie does play towards our nostalgia for the game we may have grown up with. But I still have reservations. I guess you can’t really tell how a movie will turn out until you actually go see it and make up your own mind.

Doctor Who Series 9 Trailer

Wow, this was creepy.

Why are so many trailers for the 12th doctor creepy?

Okay, so my first thought on this was why the hell are there so many creepy horror movie monster rejects in this episode?

Was this a trailer for the series premiere episode or for the whole series 9?

Anyways, yes, this was a creepy trailer. The beginning of the trailer’s song really, really reminded me of Thunderstruck from AC/DC. And I feel like the only big thing to come out of the trailer is the appearance of Arya Stark at the end. I’ve never even read or watched Game of Thrones–I’m quite adamant about not doing so–but I will admit that she is my least disliked character of that series, haha. Back to the point, I feel like they’re making her cameo the whole draw or appeal for series 9. Seriously? I’m sure she’s a nice girl and her plot will be hella awesome, but I’m gonna need more than that to be excited for series 9, BBC. Please release more stuff to hook me in 🙂

Is anyone curious about Missy? I thought she was dead, but I guess the Master/Mistress never really dies. This trailer kinda made it seem like she was going to be a semi-companion. The way she stood by Clara made it look that way. I don’t quite like that idea though because she’s the MASTER. She’s supposed to be the enemy of the Doctor, right? Or a very delusional, evil old comrade of the Doctor…

Welp, I’ll be waiting for series 9 to come out this September!

What happened to Danny? Will he be coming back? That was such a sad storyline.
Also, I heard that they were going to try to make the Doctor funnier? Which is kind of a weird thing to do. Haven’t you already established the Doctor and his persona in series 8? Going back and trying to change him now seems cheap and very weak….just saying….Also, he wasn’t unfunny, so what are they trying to do exactly?

Goosebumps (2015) Movie Trailer

Goosebumps, if you didn’t already know, was a book series created by R.L. Stine that was pretty popular back in the 90s. The books were of the horror genre, but it was suitable for kids ages 9 and up. The series was so popular that a TV series was also created that featured Goosebump stories. Here’s the opening intro:

Creepy. Love the theme music. Anyways, I used to read a bunch of these as a kid. I don’t remember much of it now, but I do remember being freaked out by these books, haha.

Sony has come out with this trailer that there will be a Goosebumps movie.

The way the trailer starts off kind of reminds me of a typical teen, girl-meets-boy movie. Through out the whole trailer I was expecting more creepiness and some scary stuff….but that never popped up. I know people say that Goosebumps weren’t that scary anyways. It was only kid scary. And I consciously know that! Goosebumps was a horror series, but it wasn’t at the level of Stephen King or the like. However, if you can’t admit that these books were uber creepy, then I don’t think you read the books as a kid, lol.

This trailer didn’t not have the aesthetics or the atmosphere of being creepy. Instead, it felt like this story was inspired by an adventure series or story, like Magic Tree House or  the Spiderwick Chronicles or even Jumanji.

All that being said, the movie looks like it could be enjoyable. I think it’s a nice introduction of an old book series to the new generation and to this decade. I just would’ve liked to see more creepiness and some scare factors. The animated characters/monsters weren’t scary enough or foreboding enough. However, maybe that is the point. Maybe Sony didn’t want it to be too scary so that kids of all ages could watch. So that their parents, who grew up reading these books, could take their kids to watch it and have fun watching a movie based on a book from their childhoods? Who knows.

I’ll be waiting to see how this movie does either way 🙂
