Jem and the Holograms Trailer

I never really watched Jem and the Holograms when I was little. I think I mostly watched Care Bears, My Little Pony, and Power Rangers. That being said, I do know enough about Jem to know that this trailer was screwy.

I was out Friday night at the movie theaters to go see Pitch Perfect 2 and was chilling and watching the trailers and previews. This trailer came on and I was like, “Oh, cool, the girl’s name is Jem….is this movie like Hannah Montana or something? It was directed by the same person as that Justin Bieber movie??? What is this? Jem? Synergy??? Is this that 80s cartoon with that pink haired rocker??? WOW! So wrong!”

I literally turned to my friend and said, “They’re making a bastardization of Jem and the Holograms!” Again, I don’t even know the storyline of Jem well, but I know enough to know that it seemed like the only similarities between this movie and the 80s cartoon is the name of some of the characters, the musical world, and Synergy? I don’t even know what Synergy is, but I know that 80s Jem talked to it/her a lot.

I know that a lot of movies nowadays are taking old cartoons and remaking them to fit this day and age, but it’s horrible for two reasons. One, what is wrong with Hollywood these days that they can’t come up with original ideas? Have they grown into complete idiots? Are we in an infinite loop where stories just get repeated over and over again, but with slightly different alteration like bad fan fictions??? And two, if they’re going to remake it, remake it right! I mean, I did enjoy the newest TMNT reincarnation, but I did miss a lot of what the old TMNT movies and cartoons had. The sense of humor. Mikey’s and Raph’s accents. A more plausible origin. *cough* Less Megan Fox. *cough* Lol.

SMH…

Just SMH, y’all…..

Here’s Black Nerd’s take on it and I pretty much agree with him on all the points lol.

Ant-Man (2015) Trailer

Whenever I see Paul Rudd, all I can think about is Mike Hannigan from Friends, lol! I know he’s been in plenty of movies and stuff since, but I will always see him as Mike Crapbag Hannigan, hahahaha.

I know people have been saying this is the same old superhero formula over and over again, but I don’t think it can be helped. How many other ways are there to introduce a new superhero? There’s been so many overdone cliches and tropes and themes in the comic books. It’ll show when they’ve all come to the big screen as well.

Anyways, the movie seems entertaining, at the very least. I guess I’m glad that went with Scott Lang. I just really don’t like Hank Pym. Seemed douchey to me. That’s why I never got into reading his stories much. Which is why I never knew that the suit could also control ants? Is that right? What really are Ant-man’s powers?

The train scene at the end with Thomas the Tank Engine was hilarious, lol.

Supergirl Trailer

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lm46-envrHo

The first thing that surprised me about this show is that it’s going to be on CBS. I guess I was expecting it to be on the CW because the Flash and Green Arrow were on there as well, but okay. We’ll see how that goes.

That trailer was interesting. It kind of reminded me of Devil Wears Prada a bit because of Ally McBeal being a bitchy boss with an overworked, under-appreciated assistant. That is Ally McBeal, right? Haha. She looks really different.

I wonder what this Supergirl’s origin story is going to be. The only Supergirl experience I have is from the 80s movie and that movie scared little kid me, lol. In that one, Supergirl came from like a small, dark, isolated city somewhere or something. This TV show seems to have Kara escaping from Krypton in a similar fashion as Superman, albeit she’s a bit older.

Overall, this seems kinda like a chick flicky TV series. I’d love to try to watch it, if I had a TV. And the trailer did make it seem like it had a good storyline. I think it will just come down to the writing and whether or not, the actress can play a good Supergirl.

Oh, and I’ve already seen so many comments about how flat-chested she is. Well, humongous, Powergirl boobs aren’t exactly realistically, aerodynamic, are they? Lmao. Grow up.

Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens Teaser

My main thoughts about this trailer revolve around questioning what the story plot will be.

)))SPOILERS…a bit(((

I know that it’s Luke Skywalker most likely talking to his kids, but really! Who’s that girl and dude??? Lol. I’m not as well-versed in the Star Wars universe because I’m a Trekkie/trekker, but I thought Luke and Mara got married, Leia and Han got married, and now their kids’ generation goes through a bunch of drama and a Solo kid goes dark side.

Are these new movies going to go through that?

Hmmm…..I’m so curious! Christmas is so faaarrrr awaaaaayyy….

I guess the best part of this teaser was Han Solo and Chewie, of course 🙂

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice Teaser Trailer 2015

I didn’t get this teaser. Why is Batman so angry? Yeah, I understand that Superman shouldn’t be worshipped because he’s not god, but I wouldn’t be angry enough to want to hurt Superman until he’s done something horrible.

I guess I’ll just have to wait for more trailers to see.

Though that brings up a good point. I LOOOOVE watching trailers, but I’ve noticed that some trailers give waaaaay too much of the movie away. Case and point, the Avengers. A lot of the jokes and quips were already shown in trailers, teasers, and sneak peeks. If you’ve not careful, you might see too much and watching the movie for the first time might be a bit of a let down. Too many spoilers in the trailers nowadays.

I still love trailers though. I just gotta learn to be careful lol.

If you haven’t noticed….I love HISHE lol. BECAUSE I’M BATMAN!

Fantastic Four Trailer (2015)

I…I….

Okay, I admit it. I get really thrown for a loop when they revamp old cartoons I used to watch as a kid. TMNT for example. I loved the 80s TMNT cartoon. I have the opening theme song on my iPod playing every now and then. And though I found their recent reincarnation in the movie theaters enjoyable, it was still a jarring experience.

Now, Fantastic Four I used to also watch in the 90s. This trailer confused me. Are Sue and Johnny still siblings? Why does everyone look like a teenager? Why was there no space shuttle? What’s Victor Doom’s origin story in this movie-verse? …..Too many questions….

…..*sigh* Okay, we’ll just have to wait and see this August, I guess 🙂

Disney’s “Frozen Fever” Short and Disney’s “Feast” Short

frozenFever

I don’t quite know what to think about this lmao.

On one hand, I’m excited enough to go see Cinderella, just to see the Frozen short lol. I mean, I love Cate Blanchett and Helena Bonham Carter. I just don’t know how I feel about rehashing old Disney movies all the time. If there’s nothing new to include into the tale, then it just gets old and stale, y’know?

Anyways, I do want to see this short. I just hope it’s good with a good story and not just a forced animated short that just capitalizes on Frozen’s popularity. I just hate it when studios milk things for all its worth. It ruins a good movie and fandom.

It’s supposed to be about Anna’s birthday celebration. I see Elsa with a green dress, which I’m not sure about because I love her in blue lol. But Anna’s color is green. Olaf seems hilarious. I know a lot of people didn’t like him, but I think we need Olaf and Sven around for comedic relief lol.

Hope it’s a good short.

Speaking of shorts, Disney’s Feast won an Oscar XD. Congrats to them!!

The doggie is SHHHOOOOO cute!

Tinkerbell and the Legend of the Neverbeast Trailer

I know this movie is probably already out, but oh wells. I can’t watch it until it’s on Netflix lol.

I love Tinkerbell. I want to cosplay her one day lol. And I love Pixie Hollow. I used to play it when it was a game on the Disney website. Too bad they got rid of it. I really loved it.

Anyways, I love to watch these movies, even though their for kids. It’s just the world they made up is so fantastical. I love the artwork and concepts.

This movie seems to bring Fawn into the spotlight more which I find great since — even though I love Tinkerbell — I’ve always wanted to know more about all the other fairies. Hope it’s a good movie.

Strange Magic (2015) – Trailer

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wv7Li2V7S8

I’m really not sure about this movie.

The animation style, and somewhat comedic style, kind of reminds me of Antz.

Antz

Not to say I did not enjoy watching Antz. Although it kind of confused me because I think Bug’s Life came out the same year, lol.

I do like the whole fairies and magic theme, so I just might try to go watch Strange Magic. I just hope the story is good. Oh, and the animation. I love animation.

Badass Women of Sci-Fi – CNN List

badass scifi women1

badass scifi women2

http://www.cnn.com/2014/07/25/showbiz/gallery/scifi-women/index.html

I know that there’s a lot of complain about in this list, but overall, I like it.

I know this list should be called like Badass Women of Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Comics or something. I know they missed some people,  like Milla Jovovich, Kate Beckinsale, Evangeline Lilly, and others. I know that some of the women on this list kinda shouldn’t be on it, but it’s still an enjoyable list to go through!

  1. Supergirl – Melissa Benoist
It’s a promo for a new Supergirl show that should be coming out on CBS soon. I’m all for a female superhero show, as long as it’s well made. I don’t know much about Melissa Benoist, but I judge her slightly for being on Glee, lmfao. That being said, I’d still definitely give this show a chance once it comes out. I don’t have TV, but if there’s a will, there’s a way.
  2. Marvel’s Peggy Carter
I love her. Lol, you’ll hear me say that a lot in this list, btw. I haven’t seen an episode yet, but I’ve heard good things. I was always curious as to what Peggy did after Capt. America “died”. I know I could’ve read the comics –I did wiki– but I usually like movie-verse over comic-verse (Only because comics tend to make things convoluted. Fifty-two multiverses?? Seriously?? LOL, ain’t nobody got time for that.)
  3. Black Widow – Scarlett Johansson
I hope they make a movie for her. She has enough of a history in the comics to make for a good movie — if done properly. She’s a badass. I love that, lol.
  4. Lucy – Scarlett Johansson
I didn’t see this movie, to be honest. I saw a trailer and it, as well as the premise, just didn’t do anything for me. I would’ve loved to love it.
  5. Katniss Everdeen – Jennifer Lawrence
I like Jennifer Lawrence, not sure if I like Katniss though. I never really got into this franchise. However, I will admit that I like Katniss’ strength, in general.
  6. Wonder Woman – Dawn of Justice
When I first saw the Wonder Woman promo picture, I thought “Hell no, Kim Kardashian???” Lmfao. I’m still not sure about Gadot though. And I’m not sure how well Wonder Woman will be presented in this movie. However, I hope Superman and Batman kick ass. Even though Ben Affleck as Batman is a bit iffy.
  7. Buffy Summers – Sarah Michelle Gellar
Lol, how could you not watch this show back in the 90s? Granted I was a bit young, I still watch a few episodes. I watched Charmed more. However, I still loved Buffy’s abilities and strength.
  8. Harley Quinn – Margot Robbie
I have never heard of the Suicide Squad, but when I looked it up, I was interested. The movie will be coming out in 2016 with Jared Leto as the Joker. Harley Quinn has got to be one of my favorite characters. And I think Margot has the look for her, I hope she can act the part as well. I’ve  always liked chaotic characters.
  9. Xena – Lucy Lawless
Haha , I liked watching Xena when I was little. Some things were too graphic and freaked me out because I was a kid, but I loved how she could just kick anyone’s butt!! Greek god or not lol. I’d throw around a Frisbee, pretending to be a warrior princess!
  10. Ripley – Sigourney Weaver
I thought she was an amazing character. Flaws, sure, but the movies were really enjoyable.
  11. Princess Leia – Carrie Fisher
I have a lot of conflicted feelings about Princess Leia, but one thing I have to admit is that she really has a commanding voice and authority. We’ll see how Episode VII goes XD
  12. Sarah Connor – Linda Hamilton
I liked the Terminator movies from the 80s/90s. I really don’t know what to think about this whole reboot thing they have coming out soon that rewrites the WHOLE THING.
  13. Trinity – Carrie-Anne Moss
I always found her character to be very annoying and I’m not sure why.
  14. Uhura – Nichelle Nichols/Zoe Saldana
Sigourney Weaver had parodied this character in Galaxy Quest (<–a must see movie BTW). And the character’s main role was to repeat what the computer said, lol. That being said, I love Star Trek. Star Trek >Star Wars. Uhura was great 🙂
  15. Orphan Black – Sarah Manning
I don’t plan on watching this show ever, lol. I’m sure it’s a great show, but it just did not appeal to me. Maybe I just think it’s too dark for me.
  16. The X-Files – Scully
I am way too young to remember much of this show. But I love the concept. I might go back and try to watch this show.
  17. Lois Lane – Margo Kidder
In all honesty, the old superman movies scared me, hahaha. There was just some elements that freaked me out!! That being said, I did like Christopher Reeve as Superman. Not too sure about Margot Kidder though.
  18. Starbuck – Katee Sakhoff
I tried to watch Battlestar Galactica once, but it got too confusing, lol. I do like Katee Sackhoff though. And the storyline for Battlestar Galactica is actually very interesting.
  19. Michonne – Danai Gurira
I don’t like watching zombie TV shows and flicks. The only one I ever liked was Shaun of the Dead. It was hilarious. However, zombie flicks, in general, just leave me in a bad mood. However, I love the Michonne wields a katana, lol.
  20. Hermione Granger – Emma Watson
Big Harry Potter nerd here. Gotta love Hermione. She was annoying and bossy, but the girl knew her stuff and she knew how to get things done! 🙂 I’m more of a Luna Lovegood personality, but I’ve always been prepared like Hermione.
  21. Catwoman – Michelle Pfeiffer
Michelle was kinda nutty in her role, but I still choose her over Halle (I kinda liked Halle for Storm in X-Men, but I think they could’ve picked someone with a better commanding leadership presence for Storm).
  22. Leela
Haha, Turganga Leela! I love Futurama. Leela was kinda annoying, but she was still pretty badass XD
  23. Game of Thrones – Daenerys
I don’t watch this show and I might just be slightly biased towards if because I feel like, being the big LOTR nerd he is, Martin took too much from Tolkien’s Silmarillion history to use as the history of his own Game of Thrones storyline. *shrug* Also, I don’t really agree with all the gratuitous sex scenes and rape. That being said, Daenerys is a very strong character and I hope that either she or Tyrion or Jon Snow become king or whatever. I love the dragons.
  24. Firefly – Mal
This show has been in my Netflix queue for a while now. I need to find time to watch it since everyone seems to love it!
