Captain America: Civil War Trailer

The trailer to Captain America: Civil War came out. Watch…..

……. TT___TT when Tony said, “So was I.” So saaaadddd šŸ™

Anyways, I love how these movies always come out around my birthday! I get to make my friends come watch with me hahaha.

The trailer looks pretty good so far. Not as epic or action-packed as I thought it would be, but I’m still excited to go see how this pans out. More so than Episode VII. Nothing against Star Wars, of course. I like Star Wars. I’m just not a major fan haha. Self-proclaimed trekkie here XD

….Where’s Spiderman? Is he in this one? Or are they saving him for later?

Also, I don’t really like how they try to make Captain seem like a bad guy, saying he’s a vigilante and all. Corrupt organizations forced him to do things himself. They call Batman a vigilante. I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad thing. It really comes down to the person.

Well, I can’t wait until May 2016 comes around. And I can’t wait until I see more trailers for next year’s summer movies XD

Batman & Robin (1997) Reaction

One of the movies people make fun of for numerous reasons. I do understand why; however, when I watch this movie, I enjoyed it. I think it was over-the-top and overdramatic on purpose. Maybe it was trying to catch the quirkiness of the Adam West Batman and the comic book feel from the comics. I don’t know, but I did rewatch this movie this past weekend since I saw it on Netflix. Go check it out, if you’d like hahaha.

First thing I poked at about this movie when I was rewatching it with my friend was the costumes, the nipple suits and the weird shots of the costumes’ anatomies hahaha. I’m not sure why they did those shots, but whatever floated their boat, I suppose.

Now, as mentioned before, I know the acting was overdramatic and everything looked warped and fake and fantastical. BUT I’m sure it was purposeful style choice. So I’m not going to mention it much haha.

One thing that annoyed me about Robin. Now, I like Chris O’Donnell. I watched him in The Bachelor, The Three Musketeers, and a bit in NCIS: LA. I just didn’t like how Robin was. I’m used to the Robin I watched on Teen Titans. He was a smart leader/strategist/detective. The Robin in this movie reminded me more of a selfish little whiny pre-teen? Which makes me wonder how old is Robin supposed to be in this movie? I would guess college age? He should be acting like a rebellious teenager, imho.

The whole warping of Barbara’s backstory. Barbara Wilson??? Whhhhyyyyy????? So in this cinematic universe, Barbara is Alfred’s niece. This is nice, I guess, but I just think it does a huge disservice to who Barbara was. I know, I know. I’m probably being biased because one of my favorite cartons growing up was Batman: The Animated Series, in which Barbara was the daughter of Commissioner Gordon. She was just this redheaded badass girl that I marveled at when I watched hahaha. Batman & Robin changed her to this blond, school girl techie who seemed to try too hard to seem like a badass with her black eyeliner and want for motorbike racing……I did like Alicia Silverstone in Clueless and Blast from the Past.

I’m not quite sure what was going on with Alfred. Why did they decide to make him ailing? Why was he searching for his brother Wilfred? Were the moviemakers planning for something in the future with this storyline?

I found the difference between the two movie Banes HILARIOUS.

3474016-6969933009-BaneT Bane_in_'Batman_&_Robin'_(1997)

Not only is it hilarious because of how different they look, but it’s more about how they acted!!! Batman & Robin’s Bane only spoke a few words at a time, like a toddler. Just repeated words like a dimwitted parrot. I have to admit though, I didn’t exactly like the “new” Bane either though. I’m a very nostalgic person, I guess. I liked the Bane from the animated series haha.

On Poison Ivy, I love the character. I wish she was more powerful in the movie.

On Mr. Freeze……..I wish he had been more sinister. I now that these movies were more on the corny, campy, funny side, but I liked Mr. Freeze to be more serious. I thought he could’ve been more evil, except for whenever it concerns his wife. I remember Mr. Freeze as being scary and evil until you see him slowing down and showing emotions when he looks down at the dancing little figure of his beloved wife…..*tear*

There are so many more things that I can talk about with this movie. Things that I liked, things that annoyed me–but overall, this movie was enjoyable. I laughed and I love to laugh. I’m going to see if I can find the Batman movie that came before this. The one with Two Face and the Riddler. I remember Tommy Lee Jones and Jim Carey being funny in it.

Maybe after that I’ll look for the Batman movie with Catwoman and Penguin, as well as the one with the Joker in the 80s…….although, both of those Batman movies scared me and freaked me out as child hahaha.

I know people rag on horrible movies, but I think that as long as it’s enjoyable, it ain’t too bad šŸ™‚

Suicide Squad – First Look Trailer

I…I really don’t know what to think about this movie.

Harley Quinn is in it and she’s one of my favorite DC characters, but she’s different in this movie. Also, the Joker really creeps me out. Will Smith being in it is kind of random to me. And overall, I just don’t know about this film. I mean, I actually liked the campiness of the Batman movies from the 90s. That gives you an idea of where my tastes are. Goofy and corny. I was never into the grungy, gritty feel that this Suicide Squad movie gives off. When they announced this movie earlier last year, I was very interested in watching it though! But this trailer is making me rethink it….

I do hope that Jared Leto plays the Joker well though. I know people still go on about Heath Ledger’s take on the character–which was good, of course, but that’s a lot of pressure the next person who’ll play that character.

Haha I really have nothing else to say about this movie because I don’t think I’m even going to see it, lol. But I do hope it’s good and people enjoy it.

Ant-Man

So I went to see Ant-Man last week. I wasn’t all too sure what to expect because I didn’t know Ant-Man very well. I knew that he was the founder of the Avengers–although, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he isn’t–and that his powers had to do with shrinking and ants and that I think he wasĀ abusive and he was married to the Wasp. Other than that, I don’t know all too much about him. I was glad that this movie wasn’t aboutĀ theĀ original guy (Hank Pym) though and was a Scott Lang.Ā Though that does make sense if you are thinking in terms of timelines.

Anyways, here’s a list of some of my thoughts (SPOILERS):

  • -There were a lot of Avenger mentions:Ā like Iron man and dropping cities from theĀ sky and the building from the second Avengers movie, and the Falcon! Also, Howard Stark and Agent Carter made appearances.
  • Ā Scott’s friend, Luis, is hilarious. I love his story-telling style haha.
  • There’s this concept about Ant-Man that I don’t really get. I mean, Scott had his favorite ant, Anthony. But, honestly, these ants are treated as expendable, aren’t they?
  • I think my favorite ants were the crazy ants.
  • I loved the Falcon fight scene. It was very funny hahaha.
  • The father-daughter relationships were kind of awkwardly placed.
  • Though it was short, I did like the appearance of the Wasp.
  • Oh, and there was kind of a hint of a mention of Spiderman (they were talking about people who crawled up walls).
  • I was totally surprised at the first end credit whereĀ Hank passed down the Wasp costume to Hope.Ā I hope that means we see Evangeline Lilly more inĀ future movies. I like her.
  • The last end credit scene surprised me, but didn’t surprise me. I actually had seen some gifs of it on tumblr–P.S. always be on the lookout for spoilers on tumblr. Anyways, I didn’t quite get what was going on in this end credit. I’ll have to look into later on. All I know is that we’ve found Bucky and I guess we’re gonna doĀ something to him or with him.

A lot of the movie was a bit predictable, such as how I totally guessed that Hank let Scott rob him by passing down the information through the chain, but it was funny and full of action. IĀ was hoping Scott would be invited to the Avengers, but then I realized that the whole Civil War thing is kind of screwing things at the moment, lol.

Now, I can’t wait to see more Marvel movies. Let’s go!

….P.S.
It’s very hard for me to see Paul Rudd as anyone other than Mike Crapbag lmao.

PIXELS Trailer

Adam Sandler’s coming out in another movie. This one has a pretty basic premise. Video game characters/aliens are invading the world and old 80s gaming champions have to save it–Actually, it kind of reminds me of an episode of Futurama! I think it was an episode where the crew is playing with the What-If machine and Fry wonders what it’d be like if life was a video game or something. Anyways, I tried to find clips on YouTube, but couldn’t find a good one. HOWEVER, I did find that a lot of other people thought the same as me.

So is this movie ripping off Futurama? Or did they have permission to borrow the ideas? I don’t know.

Either way, when I first saw the first PIXELS trailer, I didn’t think much of it. I mean, I do like the idea and the movie does play towards our nostalgia for the game we may have grown up with. But I still have reservations. I guess you can’t really tell how a movie will turn out until you actually go see it and make up your own mind.

Goosebumps (2015) Movie Trailer

Hmmmmm……..ooookay.

Goosebumps, if you didn’t already know, was a book series created by R.L. Stine that was pretty popular back in the 90s. The books were of the horror genre, but it was suitable for kids ages 9 and up. The series was so popular that a TV series was also created that featured Goosebump stories. Here’s the opening intro:

Creepy. Love the theme music. Anyways, I used to read a bunch of these as a kid. I don’t remember much of it now, but I do remember being freaked out by these books, haha.

Sony has come out with this trailer that there will be a Goosebumps movie.

The way the trailer starts off kind of reminds me of a typical teen, girl-meets-boy movie. Through out the whole trailer I was expecting more creepiness and some scary stuff….but that never popped up. I know people say that Goosebumps weren’t that scary anyways. It was only kid scary. And I consciously know that! Goosebumps was a horror series, but it wasn’t at the level of Stephen King or the like. However, if you can’t admit that these books were uber creepy, then I don’t think you read the books as a kid, lol.

This trailer didn’t not have the aesthetics or the atmosphere of being creepy. Instead, it felt like this story was inspired by an adventure series or story, like Magic Tree House orĀ  the Spiderwick Chronicles or even Jumanji.

All that being said, the movie looks like it could be enjoyable. I think it’s a nice introduction of an old book series to the new generation and to this decade. I just would’ve liked to see more creepiness and some scare factors. The animated characters/monsters weren’t scary enough or foreboding enough. However, maybe that is the point. Maybe Sony didn’t want it to be too scary so that kids of all ages could watch. So that their parents, who grew up reading these books, could take their kids to watch it and have fun watching a movie based on a book from their childhoods? Who knows.

I’ll be waiting to see how this movie does either way šŸ™‚

Pitch Perfect 2

>>>Spoilers, obviously<<<

It was an enjoyable movie. I definitely liked the first one better, but that’s usually expected when it comes to sequels. I did think that this one may have mirrored the first one a bit too much. I mean, in the first one, a girl projectile vomiting like Linda Blair ruined the Bellas and their reputations and they had to work their way back up to win the competition. In this one, Fat Amy flashes the president her crotch and the Bellas are back down again and suspended. So they have to win the world competition to make a comeback. They have a newbie too.

The songs were fun. I like singing along with them. I thought that storyline was a bit predictable. There was a point in the movie where I kept getting annoyed about why couldn’t the Bellas see that they were all gimmicks and not about singing?? Also, did anyone notice how very stereotypically “german” Das Sound Machine was? Lol. The final competition was disappointing though. I was left wondering if that was it. I thought there’d be more competitions around the world, like a tour, I guess.

Overall, it was an okay comedy with a few laughs. Not much to praise about, but it was still fun.

Ant-Man (2015) Trailer

Whenever I see Paul Rudd, all I can think about is Mike Hannigan from Friends, lol! I know he’s been in plenty of movies and stuff since, but I will always see him as Mike Crapbag Hannigan, hahahaha.

I know people have been saying this is the same old superhero formula over and over again, but I don’t think it can be helped. How many other ways are there to introduce a new superhero? There’s been so many overdone cliches and tropes and themes in the comic books. It’ll show when they’ve all come to the big screen as well.

Anyways, the movie seems entertaining, at the very least. I guess I’m glad that went with Scott Lang. I just really don’t like Hank Pym. Seemed douchey to me. That’s why I never got into reading his stories much. Which is why I never knew that the suit could also control ants? Is that right? What really are Ant-man’s powers?

The train scene at the end with Thomas the Tank Engine was hilarious, lol.

Fantastic Four Trailer (2015)

I…I….

Okay, I admit it. I get really thrown for a loop when they revamp old cartoons I used to watch as a kid. TMNT for example. I loved the 80s TMNT cartoon. I have the opening theme song on my iPod playing every now and then. And though I found their recent reincarnation in the movie theaters enjoyable, it was still a jarring experience.

Now, Fantastic Four I used to also watch in the 90s. This trailer confused me. Are Sue and Johnny still siblings? Why does everyone look like a teenager? Why was there no space shuttle? What’s Victor Doom’s origin story in this movie-verse? …..Too many questions….

…..*sigh* Okay, we’ll just have to wait and see this August, I guess šŸ™‚

Guardians of the Galaxy Reactions

So I finally got to watch Guardians of the Galaxy! So it’s all spoilers in this post if you still have yet to see it.

Okay, the first scene is the death of a mother. What is it with movies (especially Disney) killing off mothers? I know it adds drama and emotions and a somewhat goal/guiding rod to the protagonist, but damn, it’s so sad! Agh! Take your mother’s hand, little Peter!! AGH! TT___TT

So I’m basing this movie totally on the movie-verse and without knowledge of the comics. Why the hell was Peter kidnapped??? Did they want to enslave him and sell him off to the highest bidder? I like movie-verses because it makes some things simpler, but sometimes, things just end up not making sense. I think I need to read up on Guardians more (though I’m more of an Avengers and Justice League person).

I have to admit that I love the use of old 80s music in this movie. Come and get your love…

For some reason, Peter reminds me of Captain Kirk. They’re both scoundrels, love women, and have a smartass mouth, lol. Ooo! Or Han Solo as well!

This movie doesn’t really explain how Peter got the title Starlord or how he got his gear.

Ahhhhh! There’s Ronan! …..Or Legolas’s dad, lmao.

And there’s Nebula…..Or Amy Pond.

And Gamora……Or Uhura.

Hahahahaha. I amuse myself.

Yay! Rocket and Groot! I honestly did not know that Groot could only say “I am Groot”. Lol. Does Vin Diesel have a habit of voicing speech-challenged characters? Lol. Remember Iron Giant? šŸ™‚

Is it just me or did the Kree look different in the old 80s/90s X-Men cartoons?

Groot’s movements bother me a bit in this movie. It’s somewhat slow, but then later on fast. Is it the animation? I dunno. I also wonder how movies do full body makeup, like for Gamora or for Orions.

It sure did take the police a long time to get to this whole little fight in a public area.

Glenn Close will always remind me of Cruella De Vil lol.

Is Rocket kind of like Stitch from Lilo and Stitch? He really doesn’t sound like Bradley Cooper.

I don’t like space prisons like this. They let the prisoners govern themselves. I saw the same thing in an episode of Star Trek. It never works out well, for the prisoners or for the government.

You know what bothers me a bit about this movie? I’ve seen most of the scenes already in the trailers. Haha! Maybe I should hold off on watching so many trailers, lest I be attacked by spoilers.

Lol, okay, so on one hand, you have a character with few words, Groot. And then a character with too many words, Drax.

…….hahaha the robotic leg…..hahaha. Rocket is horrible!

Screen Shot 2015-03-30 at 4.03.22 PM

This is one of the most hilarious scenes of the movie!!! I mean, look at it! HAHAHAHAHA. Drax is just like “Wtf, does anyone else see this?” Poor, sweet Groot.

Does anyone else relate to Gamora’s sentiments? “I am surrounded by the galaxy’s biggest idiots.” Lmao.

I would like to know more about this Collector fella. He seems like a douche, but not a major baddie. I know he has the space dog and Howard the Duck as captives.

What kind of huge being is the one that the city Knowhere resides in? That is one big monster!

I don’t know how I feel about Gamora and Starlord together. It is cute though.

Poor Rocket. TT__TT Always being belittled for being a tortured experiment. At least Groot cares about him.

Drax calling Ronan to their location has got to be one of the stupidest things ever.

Hahahaha “I can’t believe you had that in your purse!” “It’s not a purse, it’s a knapsack!”

Throughout this whole movie, I’ve questioned Gamora’s motive. Sure, she was taken by Thanos and tortured and changed into an assassin. But how or, I guess, why did she choose to fight back now when she was captured as a child? I guess it’s a when-the-opportunity-presents-itself situation.

Okay, what’s with villains not delivering the last blow to kill their enemies? I mean, Ronan just dumped Drax in the liquid to drown. That gives time for a rescue or recovery. See, villains keep screwing up like this and they will regret it! Lol.

I don’t really understand the dramatics of Peter saving Gamora. Am I heartless? Lol.

Honestly, who didn’t see Ronan taking the orb for himself?

Drax admitting he wasn’t paying attention was hilarious, haha. And Groot eating stuff from off his shoulder lol.

Okay, so I know how dramatic it is that the cops formed a net to push the baddies back, but you just KNOW that it’s gonna blow up and they’re all gonna die! Also, if all of them are doing that, who’s protecting the citizens below???

Groot has beautiful, magically, glowing pollen lol. And at last I see the light…and it’s like the fog has lifted…

Screen Shot 2015-03-30 at 4.29.22 PM

Groot looks pretty pleased with himself after killing a bunch of people, lol.

And there goes the police net thing and all those people died.

I don’t understand why Groot had to “die”. I mean, if his extremities grow back, why would him turning his extremities in a shield kill him?

Okay, it was hilarious when Peter distracted Ronan by dancing, but if I was Ronan, I wouldn’t have been so easily distracted hahaha.

I want to know more about Peter’s lineage. Was it his linage that save him? Or the fact that they spread the power of the orb amongst four/five people?

Screen Shot 2015-03-30 at 4.37.12 PM

Rocket made me very sad here…. šŸ™

Screen Shot 2015-03-30 at 4.42.41 PM

This was adorable.

And as always with Marvel movies, there was a bonus scene after the credits.

I don’t understand it at ALL though. Why was Howard the Duck there???
